Valsartan is mainly used for treatment of high blood pressure. Valsartan dilates blood vessels and reduces blood pressure because it acts as an antagnoist of angiotensin II receptor.
In this note, chromatograms of valsartan based on the condition described in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) are shown. Using InertSustain C18, sharp peak was obtained from tablet samples as well as standard solution.
